Urine tests are helpful in diagnosing issues such as infection, or crystals which can be very uncomfortable for your dog. Fecal testing assists in the identification of intestinal parasites, which can cause a number of gastrointestinal symptoms in dogs.
Why are canine fecal examinations recommended yearly?
Dogs often get into things they shouldn’t, especially outside your home. They can get intestinal parasites from ingesting things like dirt, other animals feces, grass, or even from having fleas.
If my dog’s urine test reveals a urinary tract infection, what can I do?
The veterinarian will create a treatment plan for your dog based on the results, they will often prescribe antibiotics appropriate for the type of infection, and sometimes pain medication to lessen discomfort if necessary.
